How it Works

After the job has been commissioned and time frame established I will usually have a conference call that outlines the projects parameters and will send several sketches to get underway. Once a direction has been decided and a sketch selected I will usually give a tighter drawing for the final idea. Sometimes on a larger project I will also give a computer rendering to establish color for matching and an overall idea of what the final is going to look like. This project had about 10 sketches with two revised drawings and a final revision made after the computer rendering with minor color corrections. This process took approximately four weeks before starting the final. The final painting took around 10 days.

Editorial work take less time since the subject matter is more singular and a color rendering is not necessary, usually three to six sketches then final finished inside a week.

Advertising like this example is more labor intensive and has greater applications down the road so there is a lot more to consider than just one time printing.
